ASSISTANT CHIEF PILOT

Summary

  • Reports to the Chief Pilot
  • Manage pilot PTO requests, schedules, and performance evaluations
  • Coordinate with Chief Pilot or Director of Operations when scheduling pilot training
  • Conduct quality assurance flights to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • Communicate all personnel or disciplinary issues to Chief Pilot
  • Travel to Jet OUT’s main base in Milwaukee, WI as necessary for company duties

Responsibilities

  • Authority to exercise Operational Control
  • Assists in the training of flight crew members
  • Responsible for crew flight and duty records and crew duties as required by operational and safety standards set forth by Jet OUT and the Federal Aviation Administration
  • Supervises distribution and posting of all information or memoranda relative to any changes affecting company policy, route information, navaids, NOTAMS, requesting of flying aids, aeronautical charts, etc.
  • Maintains a close liaison with the Chief Pilot about department operations.
  • Reports to the Chief Pilot
  • Supervises loading and distribution of cargo and passengers and determines that weight and balance is within prescribed limitations per procedures.
  • Supervises flight crew personnel.
  • Conducts or supervises training activities of flight crew personnel
  • Advises the Chief Pilot regarding the training of flight crew personnel.
  • Assists Jet OUT in formulating operations policies, coordinates those policies, and coordinates operations and training.
  • Ensures that all aircraft are properly equipped for applicable operations.
  • Maintains proficiency as Pilot-in-Command in both the TBM and CJ4.
  • Schedules flight crew members, including assigning Pilot-in-Command duties.
  • Prepares and maintains proficiency records, pilot files, flight schedules, duty time records, reports, and correspondence on flight operations activities.
  • Submits all reports regarding flight personnel to the Chief Pilot.
  • Keeps the aircraft copies of Jet OUT’s Operations Manual current.
  • In coordination with the Chief Pilot, hires and fires flight personnel.
  • Ensures that all flight crew personnel are certified and supervised according to the requirements specified in the Federal Aviation Regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum two years’ experience in Part 135 or Part 121 operations
  • Minimum one year experience as PIC in turbojet operations
  • ATP Pilot Certificate AMEL
  • Current 1st Class Medical Certificate
  • 3,000 Hours Total Time
  • 500 Hours Multi-Engine
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator’s Permit
  • Must be located within one hour of KPWK

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year experience as PIC in Part 135 or Part 121 operation

  • Perform the safe operation of Jet OUT aircraft in all weather conditions at any approved airport.
  • Be highly knowledgeable of company’s General Operations Manual, FAA regulations, Company Operations Specifications, flight manuals, and other pertinent documents.
  • Keep up to date with new policies, procedures, FAA and ICAO regulations, and IS-BAO best practices.
  • Utilize Crew Resource Management (CRM) skills on every flight.
  • Operate Jet OUT aircraft in accordance with FAA regulations and Jet OUT Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Assist passengers with baggage and loading aircraft.
  • Maintain professionalism that reflects positively on Jet OUT.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chief Pilot.

Responsibilities

  • Plans flight assignments and obtains briefing information regarding the purpose of the flight, weather, operating procedures, and special instructions.

  • Ensures proper filing of the flight plan, considering such factors as altitude, terrain, weather, range, weight, cruise control data, airport facilities and navaids.

  • Supervises crewmembers to ensure proper planning and flight preparation.

  • Ensures proper equipment is aboard.

  • Ensures aircraft is loaded, equipped, and manned for the flight assignment.

  • Performs or supervises preflight inspection of engines, fuselage and control surfaces for mechanical and structural soundness and proper operation of communications and navigational equipment.

  • Supervises loading and distribution of cargo and passengers and determines that weight and balance is within prescribed limitations per procedures.

  • Operates aircraft at favorable altitude considering turbulence, oxygen requirements, and comfort of passengers during flight.

  • Ensures preparation of flight logs, records, and maintenance forms.

  • Checks the Maintenance Status Form to ensure that the aircraft is in an airworthy condition and that all required maintenance has been performed and that the planned flight can be completed prior to the next scheduled maintenance.

  • Promotes a positive safety and reporting culture.

  • Reports any potential or observed safety issues via appropriate methods.
