At Jet OUT, we believe every flight has a story—and many of them begin well before the wheels ever leave the ground. More than just aircraft, our fleet of CJ4s is a reflection of the people behind it. One of the most meaningful ways we celebrate this connection is through a unique tradition: allowing our team members to choose the tail numbers of our aircraft.
What might seem like a small detail—just a sequence of letters and numbers—often carries deeply personal meaning. These tail numbers become tributes, time capsules, and tokens of affection that reflect the passions, milestones, and memories of our crew. Each one tells a story.
Today, we’re proud to share the story behind N423NE—an aircraft named by our Sales Director and founding team member, Mitch Wild.
The story behind N423NE
When it came time to choose a tail number, Mitch picked N423NE. It was a surprise gift for his wife, a celebration of her birthday on April 23rd.
“I chose tail number N423NE to surprise my wife for her birthday, April 23rd,” Mitch shares. “I told her a few months after our engagement, and she loved it. Now she always looks for ‘her’ plane at the airport. We even have a model of it at home. I joke that I put her birthday on a jet so I’d never forget it.”
About Mitch
Mitch has been with Jet OUT since the beginning. His path into aviation began with curiosity and a little bit of luck.
“I signed up for an aviation class in high school because it sounded fun,” he recalls. “I ended up loving it.”
From there, his passion took flight. His mom gifted him a few extra flight lessons, and with his dad’s encouragement, he enrolled in flight school at Fox Valley Technical College in Oshkosh.
Originally hired as a pilot for Phoenix Investors, Mitch became part of the core team that evolved into Jet OUT. Today, as our Sales Director, he thrives on the camaraderie, the shared mission, and the pride of building something meaningful.
“We’ve made a real difference in people’s travel experiences,” Mitch says. “And I have a lot of fun with my coworkers—we’ve got a great team.”
Outside the office, Mitch enjoys time with his wife and their two dogs. Summer weekends are spent gardening, golfing, and exploring the outdoors. In the winter, he’s out ice fishing or enjoying the fall hunting season. And every autumn, his family takes to the skies for their annual tradition—flying to Door County for a weekend of changing leaves, mini golf at The Red Putter, and a stop at Wilson’s for ice cream.
And in case you're wondering, he holds one very important title. As of July 7th, 2025 he is undefeated in foot races at the Milwaukee office. Making him the fastest Jet OUT employee.
