At Jet OUT, our aircraft are more than just tail numbers—they’re stories in motion. Behind every tail number is a meaningful story, often tied to personal milestones, memories, and values held by our team members. When a new aircraft joins our fleet, our employees have the opportunity to select its tail number, creating a unique connection between the aircraft and the people who help power our mission.
Today, we continue our Stories in the Sky series with a look at N623NE, a Cessna Citation CJ4 Gen 2. The tail number N623NE was selected by Dan Gerard, our Chief Pilot, who has been with Jet OUT since March 2020.
Dan's selection of N623NE was rooted in family—and in gratitude.
“As a way of expressing my love and gratitude to my family for their understanding and support of my career as a pilot, I chose to combine my son Sam's birthday, June 2nd, and my daughter Nora’s birthday, June 3rd, into the tail number,” Dan shares. “I love them very much.”
Dan Gerard has been part of Jet OUT’s journey since nearly the beginning. “When I joined, we had just 16 people and three TBMs,” he recalls. “Now we’re close to 100 employees with seven jets and three bases. It’s been incredible to watch the growth.”
His passion for aviation traces back to his childhood. Growing up near an airport, Dan remembers stopping to watch airplanes and helicopters fly over his house—moments that sparked a lifelong love for flight.
Though Dan isn’t one to talk much about himself (we genuinely appreciate him stepping out of his comfort zone to help us with this story), he’s a vital part of the Jet OUT team. Beyond flying, he has a wide range of interests—from music and movies to exploring new places with his family. “We prioritize going places we haven’t been before. My family loves adding new push-pins to our travel map.”
Dan’s story behind N623NE is a reminder that every aircraft in our fleet reflects the people who help shape Jet OUT’s mission.
